What happened at the March meeting

We were very privileged to be invited to the Mess Hall/Main Conference Room at FANY’s HQ in Rochester Row.

FANY (Princess Royal’s Volunteer Corps) is still in existence after 105 years, with many believing that they were disbanded after World War II. That is not the case and the Corps is a vibrant 21st Century organisation. Today, they continue to help others and learn new skills as diverse as supporting TA units in training, advanced first aid and radio communication. Members are all volunteers who give their time freely to support both Civil and Military authorities within the UK. They are especially proud of their long association with the City of London and those trained members who are on call, 24 hours a day, to the City of London Police Casualty Bureau in times of major emergencies.

Their talk focused primarily on the history of the Corps and gave an update on what they do today.
