We currently have 55 members. If we reach our capacity of 65, a waiting list opens, though some spots usually become available in April when renewals are due.
Membership for 2024 is £48 a year and starts in April, finishing the following March.
New members joining the WI from April 2024 for the first time, or who have not been members of any WI in the past year, will pay a pro-rata subscription depending on the quarter in which they join. Between 1 July to 30 September it is £34.50, between 1 October to 31 December £23 and between 1 January and 31 March £11.50. The best way to pay is by bank transfer, and these details will be given to you when a spot becomes free.
Your membership fee includes a monthly email newsletter from our president, attendance at 12 main meetings held on the first Monday of each month, and invitations to events such as wine tasting, walks, visits to museums or galleries, crafting and theatre outings. Some events and outings will of course incur an additional cost eg. theatre tickets – and are charged on an ad hoc basis if you choose to attend. Part of what you pay goes to WI National Federation, who publish WI Life Magazine, a monthly members’ magazine which you will receive by mail, and also our local Surrey Federation which provides an online magazine.
You are welcome to come along to one of our meetings as our guest – it would be helpful if you could let us know at least 24 hours in advance if you would like to attend – just drop a note to membersfcwi@gmail.com It’s an opportunity to meet everyone and get an idea of what we do before you decide it you’d like to join.
