December meeting – Monday, 2 December 2013

Rosanna Machado was Project Director of last year’s Diamond Jubilee River Pageant: 1,000 boats, 40 big screens for landlubbers, a festival in Battersea Park, a million plus spectators, countless stewards and the entire Royal family afloat, down to the most junior m’lord: it required quite a feat of organisation, but 36-year-old events manager Rosanna Machado kept the show riding along on the crest of a wave. While other key figures stood at Her Majesty’s shoulder on the barge, Machado was out of sight on the bridge, bringing this spectacular event into harbour with pin-point precision, and bang on its privately raised budget. Rosanna is now COO of CTN Communications, the company behind this year’s G8 Summit in Northern Ireland.

Just to remind you that it is also our infamous annual mince pie competition on the same night.  Therefore, please feel free to bring along your finest baked goods, which will be judged by the wonderful team at the pub to win a prize.
