April Book Club

The Help by Kathryn Stockett has been a popular choice for book clubs since its release in 2009 so Fulham WI put it to the test. The conversation was lively and shouts of “I loved it!!” sounded loud and wide. So it appears we are in agreement with the fact that The Help is well worth a go.

Well it wouldn't be a book club without a glass of wine now would it?

The general consensus was that The Help is a great read which tackles some important subjects. Stockhett has created characters that you will love and some that you will love to hate.

Next month we will be discussing a Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini, the follow-up to the acclaimed The Kite Runner. The book focuses on the tumultuous lives of two Afghan women and how their lives cross each other, spanning from the 1960s to 2003. The next book club meeting will be on Tuesday the 21st of May at the 5th Floor Bar in Waterstones on Piccadilly at 7:30. Please let us know if you would like to come so we can reserve a suitable space.
