At our Annual Meeting in November we said goodbye – and a huge thank you – to Natalie, who’d served five years as president. We are delighted that Alison has been elected as our new President taking us into 2023. She will be supported by our brilliant committee who have all agreed to remain in their positions for another year.
Alison, President – The role of President includes overseeing the work of our committee, writing the newsletters, chairing our FCWI monthly meetings, and liaising with the NFWI and Surrey Federation. But I will also continue my role in bringing together an interesting, inspiring and fun programme of speakers, as well as running our very popular book club, and looking after social media.
By day, I’m an Executive PA, and I’ve been a member of FCWI for ten years.
Christina, Secretary – I joined the WI because I was looking for a book club which I found and love, but I really enjoy the monthly meetings and other activities as well – so much so that I have now joined the committee. I’ll try my best to be a good secretary, and look forward to attending many future get-togethers.
Annabel, Treasurer – I became a member of FCWI in 2018 as I was impressed with the list of upcoming speakers and events, and joined the committee in the summer of 2019.
Nicola, Events – Having returned from a seven month sabbatical, volunteer teaching in Nepal and India, I was delighted to have the opportunity of rejoining the FCWI committee! I work full time as a Personal Assistant, and volunteer at the Royal Hospital Chelsea when I can. I also love going to the theatre, walking and travelling.
Anne, Membership – I joined FCWI in 2019, shortly before Covid took hold, and then joined the committee in 2022. I look forward to serving as membership secretary – oh, I love to sing and never say no to chocolate!
Daphne, Fundraising and Campaigns – I joined the WI in 2018 as I had just started my own business and wanted to make sure I would remain sociable and engaged with things other than work. The events are fun and the speakers are always interesting and engaging. I joined the committee in 2022 and hope that I can add to WI events and speaker invites, as well as other worthwhile causes, through the fundraising efforts.
